Former Director of Metropolitan Museum of Art Philippe de Montebello Lectured in SJTU

On the evening of March 8th, the 7th [TANG] · International Curator Lecture on Cultural Heritage and Museology was held in Xuhui Campus.Philippe de Montebello, former Director of Metropolitan Museum of Art gave a lecture titled "Enlighten the Future with History: Reflection on the Current Global Museums ."
On the afternoon of March 7th, Philippe de Montebello was warmly welcomed at the general office on Xuhui Campus.
SJTU Chairman Jiang sixian first delivered a welcome speech on behalf of SJTU. In the speech, he briefly introduced the university's work on cultural heritage and museology, and wished to have in-depth cooperation with the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Taipei Palace Museum in the relevant talent training. In the end, De Montebello delivered a speech, in which he stressed the importance of humanistic education and expressed his appreciation for the work of SJTU.
In the evening of March 8th, the Lecture Seven of the [TANG] · International Curator Lecture on Cultural Heritage and Museology started. De Montebello led the audience to roam in the long history of the development of global art museums, and reflected the prospect and future direction of museums across the world.
During the interactive session, the former director of the Taipei Palace Museum Zhou Gongxin also joined in and interacted with the audience together with De Montebello.
Seven fantastic lectures of the [TANG] · International Curator Lecture on Cultural Heritage and Museology have been held since its establishment in March 2017. Meanwhile, [TANG] also wishes to provide a platform where SJTU and famous museums at home and abroad can make deeper and more comprehensive cooperation and exchange.
