SJTU Swedish Alumni Association Established in Lund
On June 30th, the inaugural ceremony of the Swedish Alumni Association of SJTU was held in Lund, Sweden. Zhang Ansheng, SJTU Party Committee Member and Vice President, Sang Dawei, Deputy Director of SJTU Alumni Association Office and Liu Jie, a SJTU teacher, participated in the ceremony on behalf of SJTU. Attendees upon invitation also included Annika Rosen, Head of Office of Division of External Relations, Lund University, and over 20 SJTU alumni studying, living and working at cities in Sweden. The event was hosted by Lin Ruiyu, a SJTU graduate of 2010.
The establishment of the SJTU Swedish Alumni Association fills the gap SJTU alumni associations have left in North Europe. SJTU has now roughly laid out its alumni network in Europe with alumni associations set up in countries including Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Sweden.
Zhang Ansheng, on behalf of SJTU, expressed in his speech a warm congratulation to its establishment, a full recognition to its preparation, and a good wish to all overseas SJTU alumni in their work, study and career development.
In the alumni forum session, Ling Li, Wang Peng, Wang Jian, Yang Ke, Lin Ruiyu, Xu Jie and other SJTU alumni shared their ideas and experience working in Sweden, including doing academic work in universities, investing and conducting scientific research in companies, and starting their own businesses. Sang Dawei introduced the status quo of some SJTU alumni starting their own businesses, and he also exchanged ideas with alumni present on their topics of interest.
