President Zhang Jie met with the visiting delegation led by Mark Waer, Rector of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven

October 26, on Minhang Campus, SJTU President Zhang Jie met with the visiting delegation led by Mark Waer, Rector of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

Present at the meeting were Koenraad Debackere, K.U. Leuven's Managing Director of the University Administration and Central Service, Bart De Moor, K.U.Leuven's Vice Rector of International Policy, Gao Xuanyang, Dean of the Institute for Advanced Study in European Culture (IASEC) of SJTU, Feng Yan, Assistant Dean of SJTU Office of Research Management, and Guo Liang, Deputy Director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange of SJTU.

President Zhang Jie and Prof. Mark Waer signed the Appendix of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities, as well as the Agreement of Dual-Master Programs and the Collaboration Agreement of Schools of Humanities. Zhang Jie and Mark Waer then together unveiled the plaque for SJTU-K.U.Leuven Sino-Euro Culture Research Center.

Founded in 1425, with a history of almost 600 years, K.U. Leuven ranks among the top universities in Europe as well as in the world. International students at KUL accounts for more than 15% of the whole, and Chinese students is the biggest group in non-European overseas students.
