Upon invitation, SJTU Vice President Cai Wei led the School of Agriculture and Biology delegation to visit National Taiwan University (NTU). Through friendly and frank exchanges on in-depth cooperation in agriculture, resource environment and biology, both sides strengthen the willingness to deepen the existing cooperation.
Vice President Cai and NTU Vice President Bau Tzong-Ho had a cordial meeting, reaching broad consensus on the education and research cooperation.
Professors from SJTU School of Agriculture and Biology and professors from NTU College of Bioresources and Agriculture had positive and fruitful discussions on talent cultivation, scientific research and agricultural extension. They agreed on specific cooperation projects and drafted a detailed roadmap of cooperation. Based on this, the deans of two schools inked a memorandum of understanding concerning cooperation.
The in-depth cooperation with NTU is a measure taken by SJTU to promote the Shanghai-Taiwan cooperation by relying on the Key Laboratory of Urban Agriculture and Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Food Safety. It is also an important step taken by School of Agriculture and Biology to explore the agriculture extension reform in China.
