From October 7 to October 14, Vice President Zhang Wenjun attended the 130th anniversary of Tokyo Institute of Technology and the 7th Japan-China University Presidents Forum in Kyoto on invitation. He also visited Keidanren (Japanese Federation of Economic Organizations), Sumitomo Chemical, Fujitsu, Kawasaki government and high-tech industrial area, and Tsuneishi Group. Zhang Weimin, Head of the Division of International Cooperation & Exchange, accompanied the visit.

During his stay in Tokyo, Vice President Zhang Wenjun exchanged the agreement on inter-university communications and student exchanges with Hokkaido University and Chuo University, and exchanged the agreement on scholarship graduate exchange with Tohoku University. He also met with the managing directors from Keidanren and Sumitomo Chemical. The two parties hoped to expand the cooperation in the sustainable development of megacities, such as environment protection and energy saving. Vice President Zhang Wenjun had in-depth discussions on talent cultivation and research cooperation with Sasaki, Chairman of FRDC (Fujitsu Research & Development Center) and General Manager Naoi. He also paid visit to Kawasaki and Hiroshima.
