Vice President Huang Zhen Led SJTU Delegation to Visit Japan

On March 12, 2012, Vice President Huang Zhen headed an SJTU delegation of teachers and students in the field of energy and environment to visit Japan. The delegation attended the opening ceremony of "Campus Asia Project" and its spring symposium at Kyushu University. After the symposium, President of Kyushu University, Setsuo Arikawa met with the SJTU delegation.

Campus Asia Project, short for Collective Action of Mobility Program of University Students, is initiated by China, Japan and Korea and aims to promote exchange and cooperation among universities with coordination from education ministries of the three countries.

Energy, Environmental Science and Engineering Project (EEST), launched by SJTU, Kyushu University and Pusan National University, aims at developing human resources in EEST by establishing a quality system of postgraduate education. The project consists of three parts: professional education programs, courses on energy and environmental S&T, and master thesis. Students will be issued diploma in EEST and master's degree after completing the whole study. This project will strengthen the exchange and cooperation between the three universities and boost the education of engineering.

During the visit, Vice President Huang Zhen had meetings with President of Pusan National University Kim Ki-Seob and Vice President of Nagasaki University Masayuki Susai respectively and exchanged on future cooperation.
