Delegation Led by Vice President Wu Dan Visits Singapore and Malaysia
On May 14-18, 2012, SJTU delegation led by Vice President Wu Dan paid a visit to Singapore and Malaysia, in an attempt to expand external partnerships.
During their stay at Singapore, Vice President Wu Dan and delegation of SJTU-affiliated Ruijin Hospital led by Assistant Deans Yuan Kejian and Hu Yiqun visited Singapore General Hospital, National Heart Centre Singapore and National Cancer Centre Singapore. They discussed on the topics of promoting the cooperation in talents cultivation and academic exchange, and to start up the nursing training program of Singapore General Hospital.
Vice President Wu Dan met with SJTU alumni representatives in Singapore and presented the award of SJTU Distinguished Alumni 2012 Siyuan Contribution to Lin Lianxing. Judy Tan received the award on the behalf of Lin Lianxing. Moreover, Wu also paid visits to the Wilmar International Limited and Temasek Foundation and other partners of SJTU.
On May 17, during his visit at Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, Malaysia, Vice President Wu had a meeting with Dato' Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Malaysian Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water and other overseas Chinese, and they held talks on the subject of setting up joint schools in East Malaysia and the feasibility for the overseas Chinese receiving higher education.
