Vice President Zhang Wenjun Meets with Vice President U. Pohl of LMU Munich

Zhang Wenjun welcomed the visiting of Prof. U. Pohl and he mentioned that SJTU has seen rapid progress in recent years and paid greater attention to internationalization. The signing of student exchange agreement has enabled a breakthrough. Besides, there should be more cooperation between professors of two universities.

Prof. U. Pohl backed Zhang Wenjun's proposal. He said LMU Munich Faculty of Law and Medicine and Biology rank top of the world list and hoped that the cooperation would be expanded to inter-school level.

Xu Xiaobing put forward the summer school, joint degree program, international symposium and other modes of cooperation and hoped for better cooperation and communication. Wang Jie introduced the "German Week" event which is to be held this October at SJTU and invited German professors to attend the Sino-German cultural exchange.

LMU Munich is a comprehensive university of German. Until 2007, 32 of its alumni and faculty have received the Nobel Prize. In 2009, SJTU Department of German signed student exchange agreement with LMU Munich and has conducted effective cooperation.
