President Zhang Jie Leads a Delegation to Visit SJTU-Wuxi Research Institute

On July 7, President Zhang Jie and Vice President Zhang Wenjun led an SJTU delegation to visit Wuxi City. Ms. Huang Lixin, Member of the CPC Standing Committee of Jiangsu Province and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Wuxi City, met with President Zhang Jie. The delegation visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University-Wuxi Research Institute together with the city leaders.

During the visit, Zhang Jie and the city leaders jointly unveiled "Bandweaver Technology", "Wuxi RFID Industrial Technology Innovation Consortia", "Wuxi RFID and Internet of Things Application Testing Public Service Platform" and "Expert Practice Base for Internet of Things Engineering of the Teaching Steering Committee for Computer Science and Technology, MOE".

SJTU-Wuxi Research Institute was officially set up on June 27, 2011. It aims to become a think tank and technology transfer and industrialization base featuring the Internet of Things with the world reputation.

The Institute has attracted two talents under the "One-thousand-talent Scheme" and applied two national and provincial programs and ten other programs with 30 patents and 30 software copyrights.
