President Zhang Jie meets Consul General of India in Shanghai

On the afternoon of November 26, SJTU President Zhang Jie met with Mr Naveen Srivastava, Consul General of the Republic of India in Shanghai. Cultural Consul Mr Vijay Bhatia accompanied the visiting.

Zhang Jie warmly welcomed the visiting delegation led by Srivastava. He introduced the development history of SJTU and its cooperation with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT, Bombay) under the framework of Global Alliance of Technological Universities (GlobalTech). Zhang said that India has strong strength in terms of computer software, smart grid and both sides could pursue opportunities of further cooperation.

Srivastava appreciated Zhang Jie's reception. He introduced the college cooperation between India and China, and expressed his willingness to support the cooperation and exchange between SJTU and Indian universities.

Srivastavay assumed the post on August 6, 2012. During this visiting to SJTU, the cooperation possibility between SJTU and college and universities in India was discussed.
