"Shanghai Education Hero" academician Yang You Donated Scholarships to SJTU Again

In September 2013, academician Yang You of SJTU School of Naval Agriculture, Ocean & Civil Engineering was elected as "2013 Shanghai Education Hero". Recently, professor Yang donated the gift bonus 200,000 yuan that he received from Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Development Foundation. The purpose is to support educational cause, to encourage outstanding students, to keep studying hard and to join the country's important industry, thus, making contributions to the national development.

In 1997 academician Yang set up "Yang You Scholarship" at SJTU. In 2010 he donated an additional 300,000 yuan and in July 2013 an additional 500,000 yuan. And this time he donated his entire bonus that he received as SJTU scholarship to support more outstanding young students.
