UIUC Former Vice President Visited SJTU

On the morning of July 29th, 2014, SJTU Vice President Huang Zhen met with Prof. Ravishankar K. Iyer, former Vice President of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Prof. Lv Rongcong, from Chinese University of Hong Kong and Xu Lin, Director from SJTU Office of Research Management attended the meeting.

UIUC Former Vice President Visited SJTUHuang extended warm welcome to Prof. Iyer and indicated that SJTU has developed favorable partnership with UIUC, establishing cooperation in the field of physics, biomedical engineering and commercial science.

Prof. Iyer made an introduction to the development of computer science in UIUC and its experience and actions in training doctoral candidates. He hoped that UIUC could develop new cooperation with SJTU in the field of big data and genomics.

After the meering, Prof. Iyer exchanged his ideas with representatives from related labs of School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering (SEIEE).
