SJTU 2014 Convocation for New Students Grandly Held

On the morning of September 14, the Opening Ceremony of new semester for grade 2014 was held in Minhang Campus, SJTU. Chairperson Jiang Sixian, President Zhang Jie, Vice Presidents Guo Xinli, Lin Zhongqin, Wu Dan, Huang Zhen, Zhu Jian, Mei Hong,Hu Jin, Xu Xuemin, Executive vice president of Research Asia and outstanding alumna Zhao Feng recruited in 1980, president of SMC Gao Tianfangxing, headmasters of high school, parents and freshmen attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Vice President Xu Xuemin.

The national anthem unveiled the commencement ceremony.

President Zhang Jie made a speech titled "See Mre Widely, Behave More Elegantly and Learn More Deeply".

Zhao Feng as an outstanding alumna recruited in 1980 shared his experience and thoughts.

Yu Yong, national Model Teacher, professor of Computer Science & Engineering, SJTU, made a speech.

During the opening ceremony, Gao Tianfangxing was awarded an honorary doctorate of SJTU.

Mou Zhe, representative of seniors enrolled in 2009 majoring in Stomatology shared with his achievements of the study in SJTU.

Cheng Shiyu, representative of 2014 freshman majoring in engineering talked about her family story, the three generations of SJTUers.

From now on, the freshmen would turn into real SJTUers who are devoted to the cause of passing on civilization, discovering the truth, rejuvenatingthe Chinese nation and pursuing for the benefit of mankind.
