Cyrus Tang Foundation Signed with SJTU to Support Translational Medicine
On November 14, Cyrus Tang Foundation Signed with SJTU to donate 100 million as a support for further research in translational medicine. Cyrus Tang, the founder, Xu Xiaochun, Executive Director of the foundation, Sun Youfan, Director of Jiangsu Office warmly welcome Zhang Jie, president of SJTU, Zhang Ansheng, vice president of SJTU and Ma Lei, the Secretary-General of SJTU Education Development Foundation.
At the signing ceremony, Cyrus Tang and Zhang Jie signed on behalf of Cyrus Tang Foundation and SJTU. They shared ideas in translational medicine, talent introduction, and students' development.
Mr. Tang established the foundation in 1995 to provide assistance in the areas of education, healthcare, and community development in China, his country of birth, and in the US, his adopted country to improve the quality of life in poor areas. He channels his resources to assist those who are deserving of help and who have demonstrated initiative and commitment to help themselves and others. In July, 2010, Cyrus Tang Foundation expressed its interest in the support for SJTU's further research in translational medicine to develop major human disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment with new technologies.
