President of Universiteit Leiden Carel Stolker Visited SJTU

On the afternoon of Dec. 2, 2014, the delegation of President of Universiteit Leiden Carel Stolker visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University. President Zhang Jie met with the guests on Minhang Campus.

Carel Stolker expressed his gratitude to Zhang Jie. He introduced in detail the history and key research fields of Universiteit Leiden, and expressed his wish to boost student exchange and academic cooperation.

Zhang Jie and Carel Stolker listened together the results of reporting groups from different departments.

Also, Carel Stolker gave the lecture titled "Reexamine Law School: Education, Research, Extension and Management" at SJTU Kaiyuan Law School, and raised the new views of law education and law research, which were warmly welcome.

Relevant persons in charge of School of Environmental Science & Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, School of Humanities and Division of International Cooperation and Exchange attended the meeting.

Founded in 1575, Universiteit Leiden is the higher educational institute with the longest history in Holland, also one of the most prestigious European research universities. It ranks 77 in ARWU, and was most famous for its medicine and social sciences research fields.
