SJTU and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Signed MOU

On January 14, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SJTU and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) was held in the New Administrative Building on Minhang Campus. SJTU President Zhang Jie and KITECHYoungSoo Lee consigned the MOU. Within the next five years, the two sides would start a number of scientific and technical activities in materials science, manufacturing technology, component technology.

On the ceremony, Zhang Jie said that KITECH had made remarkable achievements in technology transfer. The MOU coincided with the comprehensive reform of SJTU, thus it would greatly promote the development of bilateral friendly cooperation and provide practical support for establishing a long-term cooperation strategy in the future.

According to the MOU, the two sides would strengthen cooperation in the development of new technologies through research projects, and hold video conference and seminars regularly, exchanging the latest academic information in related fields and exploring the academic development trend together.

The MOU was an in-depth cooperation on the basis of the Letter of Intent they signed in 2005, aiming to further promote the development of SJTU and KITECH in applied research, experimental development and innovation etc.

Presentatives were Director of China Office of KITECH Kang Dongnan, Director of Division of International Cooperation and Exchange Zhang Weimin, Dean of University of UM-SJTU JI Huang Peisen, Associate Dean for Research of UM-SJTU JI Li Xinwan.
