On the afternoon of September, 28, 2015, Rice University President David Leebron, with his delegation, visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University. SJTU President Zhang Jie introduced the recent developments of SJTU, especially in the aspect of talent introduction. He hoped that the cooperation between Business Schools of these two universities can be implemented, moreover, the education and academic exchanges can be extended to other professional fields. President Leebron agreed with it, and he hoped that these two universities could explore proper fields for students and teachers to communicate and exchange with each other so that these two famous universities in China and America can cooperate in real fields. Some officials from Antai College of Economics & Management and Division of International Cooperation and Exchange also joined in this meeting.

After the meeting, President Leebron with his delegation exchanged experiences in education with University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute.

Rice University implements residential college system like Oxford University, In the university, about 40% undergraduates choose two majors and there are 3888 undergraduates and 2610 graduates.
