SJTU 2014 Undergraduates Graduation Ceremony Grandly Held

In the morning of June 29, SJTU 2014 Graduation Ceremony for undergraduates was held on Minhang Campus. Chairperson of the University Council Jiang Sixian, President Zhang Jie, Vice Presidents Guo Xinli, Lin Zhongqin, Wu Dan, Huang Zhen, Zhu Jian,Zhang Ansheng, Mei Hong, Hu Jin, Xu Xuemin, outstanding alumna Lu Yan recruited in 1945, winners of "Distinguished Teaching Award" Zhang Jun, Sun Huai, and Ji Zhigang attended the ceremony.

President Zhang Jie delivered the speech titled "Let the Light of Humanity Illuminate the Future." He spoke to the graduates as follows: "Now you are leaving and going to pursue your future. To be a really successful person, you need not only the pursuit of scientific spirit, but also humanistic self-constraint.

On the ceremony, famous SJTU alumna and Oscar lifelong judge Lu Yan shared her "beautiful youth" at SJTU and in the journey of life, as well as "unforgettable experiences, loss and gains."

At the end of the ceremony, all the graduates stood up and sang in unison the School Song of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

It is reported that the total number of SJTU 2014 graduates is 9097, including 3700 undergraduates and 5397 postgraduates. Among undergraduates 56.43% chose to pursue further study, 31.83% home and 24.60% abroad.
