A Cooperation Agreement Signed by SJTU, Ghent University and Catholic university of Louvain

On the evening of 25 June 2015, on the occasion of Belgium King Philip, Queen Mathilde's visit to Shanghai, Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai government and representatives of the Belgian Consulate General held a bilateral cooperation agreement signing ceremony among universities, research institutions and relevant government departments.

On behalf of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhang Jie, president of SJTU, signed a cooperation agreement with Ghent University, Belgium and Catholic University of Louvain.

Ghent University, Belgium is one of the major Belgian universities in the Dutch-speaking region of Europe. On September 7, 2013,Zhang Jie and Cauwenberg, the school principal of Ghent University, Belgium signed protocol to establish a "Shanghai Jiaotong University - Ghent University fungal toxins Joint Laboratory". In order to further strengthen cooperation, after the two sides have conducted fruitful cooperation and published more than 20 papers, both sides proposed to add the Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences, CAS as partner to build a joint laboratory and signed the "Ghent University - Shanghai Jiaotong University - the Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences, CAS Agreement."

Catholic University of Louvain and Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiaotong University, have undergone long-term relationship. Since 2007 more than 10 EMBA students of Catholic University of Louvain have a week of study tours to ACEM each year and the two sides also exchanged a dozen MBA students and graduate students each year. School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiaotong University also has research cooperation in English linguistics with Catholic University of Louvain. In late December, the delegation of School of Medicine, SJTU visited Catholic University of Louvain to discuss cooperation. The inter-school cooperation agreement signed by the two universities will further promote bilateral cooperation and exchanges in various fields.

In the afternoon, Vincent Blondel, president and Veronique Preat, vice president of Catholic University of Louvain visited Antai College of Economics and Management and discussed cooperation with Dean Zhou Lin, Associate Dean Wan GuohuaAntai College of Economics and Management
