Leaderships of SJTU Visited UK Universities and Journal Publishing Groups

To further promote in-depth cooperation between SJTU and British top universities and world-leading journal publishing groups, from June 2nd to 6th, a delegation of SJTU visited the Britain. Led by Vice President Mao Junfa, the delegation visited a number of British famous universities and institutions, including the Oxford office of ElsevierUniversity of Oxford, the London office of Springer NatureImperial College LondonKing's College London, and University College London.

On June 2nd, Mao Junfa met with Jessica Corner, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham. They agreed that substantive cooperation between the two sides will be further promoted in the future.

 

 

On the morning of June 3rd, the delegation visited the Oxford office of Elsevier, where the two sides reached a consensus on further cooperation based on the strategic cooperation memorandum signed in October last year.

 

 

On the afternoon of June 3rd, the delegation visited the University of Oxford. Over the past 5 years, the annual summer school has been jointly held by the two sides. The leaderships of both schools have reached a new consensus on future cooperation.

 

 

 

 

On the morning of June 4th, the delegation visited the London office of Nature Research. The two sides stated that in-depth cooperation will be further strengthened and they also signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Services of Scientific Research.

 

 

 

On the afternoon of June 4th, the delegation visited the Imperial College London (ICL) and held talks with Ian Walmsley, second Provost of ICL, and Maggie Dallman, Vice President of ICL.

 

 

 

On the morning of June 5th, the delegation held talks with Funmi Olonisakin, Vice President of King's College London.

 

 

 

On the afternoon of June 5th, the delegation visited the University College London (UCL). Katherine Carruthers, Assistant Principal and Dean of the IOE Confucius Institute, UCL attended the meeting.

Through above-mentioned fruitful visits, the cooperation between SJTU and British universities and academic institutions has been further promoted, which will lay a solid cooperative foundation for SJTU’s future internationalization.
