Bulgarian President Rumen Radev Visited SJTU and Gave Speech

On July 5, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and his delegation made a visit to Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The president, with the delegation, went to the Bulgaria Center and also gave an exuberant speech in the university.

 

Bulgarian Ambassador to China Grigor Porozhanov, Secretary General of President Dimitar Stoyanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov, Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Dong Xiaojun, Counsellor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cui Zhimin, Deputy Director Liu Guangyong of Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, SJTU Chairman Jiang Sixian, former Chairman Ma Dexiu, Vice President Xu Xuemin, former Deputy Secretary of the CPC and the Acting Dean of  the School of International and Public Affairs Hu Jin attended the event.

President Rumen Radev visited the Bulgarian Center in the School of International and Public Affairs, and he had gracious communications with Bulgarian students there and investigated the situation of the Center.

 

On January 2016, the first Bulgaria Center was founded by SJTU, later in 2018, its sub-center was founded in Sofia. The Bulgaria Center as one of the four overseas centers is the base for high standard international cooperation.

 

The President also answered questions from the present teachers and students, including the increasing investment in the two countries, and the deepening scientific, cultural and educational exchanges among the universities and students.

After the speech, President Radev and Chairman exchanged the souvenirs from both countries.
