Shanghai-London Dialogue 2021 held at SJTU
On April 16th, 2021, Shanghai-London Dialogue 2021: Global Climate Change and the Responsibility of Architects and the Inauguration ceremony of the RIBA CITY ROOM at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held at Minhang Campus. Experts and scholars from the Royal Institute of British Architects, Shanghai Institute of Architecture, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and other universities and industries attended the ceremony and delivered speeches at the forum, attracting more than a thousand viewers joining the event through online platforms.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Che Shengquan, Deputy Dean of SJTU School of Design. Alan Jones, Global President of RIBA, Xu Xuemin, Vice President of SJTU, and Azlina Bulmer, International Director of RIBA gave opening speeches at this event.
Lv Man, Chief Development Officer of RIBA China, and Ruan Xin, Dean of SJTU School of Design, inaugurated the RIBA CITY ROOM at SJTU.
Ruan Xin introduced the structure, aims and plans of RIBA CITY ROOM at SJTU.
Moderated by the Chief Development Officer of RIBA China, Lv Man, Alan Jones gave a presentation titled “Global Climate Change and Architects’ Responsibility”.
The presentation was followed by a round-table discussion on “Global Climate Change and the Responsibility of Architects” among four experts, moderated by Ruan Xin.
At the end of this event, Ruan Xin expressed his appreciation to the experts and scholars for their insights and innovative ideas presented on the forum. He said that with the platform of RIBA City Room at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the cooperation between China and the UK is to scale new heights in the future.
