Biography
Professor JIANG Sixian is currently Deputy Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, Chairman of Shanghai JiaoTong University Council, and member of the Consulting Committee of the BoaoForum for Asia.
Professor JIANG Sixian graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Master degree in engineering in 1985. He furthered study in the Business School of the University of British Columbia in Canada in 1994 and in senior executive management in Harvard University in2004. Professor JIANG has been in several important positions of Shanghai and Hainan Province. He has successively served as the Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (1993-1994), the General Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Government (2000-2002), the Vice Mayor of Shanghai and the Governor of Pudong New Area (2002-2004), the Director of Organization and Standing Committee Member of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee (2004-2006), the Vice Governor of Hainan Province (2007-2012), Standing Committee Member of Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Party Secretary of Sanya (2012-2013).

Professor JIANG Sixian has a profound understanding of higher education and its relations with economic and social development.
